Q: How many guests can one station handle?

One staffed make-and-take station serves eight to ten people at a time, about fifteen minutes each, handling up to 40 makers in two hours. Bars are priced by makers rather than guest count. A glitter artist does 15 to 20 tattoos an hour; airbrush runs about 20.

Q: Do you charge for idle time?

No. The gap between cocktail hour and the reception costs nothing. Most South Florida activation companies bill idle time at around $100 an hour.

Q: What are glitter images?

A live artist hand-paints glitter onto printed photographs while guests watch, roughly three minutes per picture. Two-hour minimum. It is rare. No other South Florida studio appears to offer it.

Timeless portraits and candids, shot the way the day actually felt. One photographer, start to finish, and every price written down before you ever pick up the phone.

Weddings and quinces, the first two weeks of a new baby, the family photo you actually print, and the branding shoot that finally makes your business look like itself.

Meet Janessa

The person behind the camera

The one who is
actually there

I have been photographing South Florida families, weddings and celebrations for years, and I still genuinely love it. I love the moment a nervous couple forgets I am in the room. I love the face a grandmother makes when she sees everybody together in one frame. That has not worn off yet and I do not think it is going to.

Golden Palm is mine, start to finish. I answer the emails, I shoot the day, I edit the gallery. That is why every price is published on this site and why you will always be talking to me rather than to an account manager who has never met you.

I work across Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton and Palm Beach, and I also run The Golden Palm Society, a seasonal gathering for the wedding and event people here, because this industry is a great deal warmer when we actually know one another.

Come and say hello. I would love to hear what you are planning.

Mini sessions

A few times a year we take over somewhere good, style it properly and put short slots on the calendar. You pick your time and pay in one go, with no back and forth.

Booking runs on Session

Every mini is booked through Session. You see the open times, pick your slot and pay, and it's yours. Nothing is held without payment, and the good times go quickly.

Where we shoot them

Three locations

Indoors Aura This year's set is deep green, chocolate brown and antique gold. No red anywhere, no weather to worry about, and the quickest turnaround for cards. Outdoors The Little Red Brick Farm Old red brick, open sky and room to run. Best for bigger families. Outdoors Park in the Pines Tall pines and long afternoon light, the most classic of the three.

Join the list

Dates go to this list before they go anywhere else, usually a couple of days ahead. Tell me which season you are waiting for and I will send you the booking link the moment slots open. No newsletter, nothing else, just the dates.

goldenpalmphotography@gmail.com 954-551-7608

Slots are held with payment and they do sell out. Last year the list filled before the dates were even public, which is why the notify list is worth being on. A full what to wear guide comes with your confirmation, and if you are not sure which session suits you, just ask.

Availability

Check your date

Type in the day you are planning and I will tell you straight away whether it is free. I take one wedding a day, so if it comes back open it is genuinely yours to claim.

Your date

Pick a date above and I will check it against the calendar.

Dates are held with a signed contract and a 30% retainer, never on a promise. If yours comes back taken it is still worth asking, because plans change more often than you would think.

Before you ask

Questions I get every week

How far ahead should we book?

Weekends fill fastest, especially November through April. A signed contract and a 30% retainer hold your date. The balance is due two weeks before, and payment plans are available on anything over $2,000.

Do we get all the photographs?

You get every image I would put my name to, fully edited, at full resolution, with print rights. There is no upsell to buy your own photographs back from me afterwards.

When do we see them?

Your gallery arrives within two weeks. If you need something sooner for a thank you card or a post, just ask and I will pull a few early.

What happens if it rains?

We move it, at no charge, as many times as we need to. This is Florida. Nobody is getting married in a downpour on my account, and a rescheduled beach session almost always turns out better anyway.

Do you travel?

Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach are included. Beyond the Palm Beach to Miami corridor travel starts at $250, and destination weddings are quoted at cost.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry general liability insurance and I will send your venue a certificate whenever they ask for one, usually the same day.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. Any amount, they never expire, and they can be put toward any session or any activation. Email me and I will send one across the same day, ready to print or to forward. They make a very easy gift for a new grandparent or a friend who keeps saying she needs new headshots.

Booking and changes

What happens if plans change

Life moves. Here is exactly where you stand, so nobody has to ask an awkward question later.

Holding a dateA signed contract and a 30% retainer. The retainer is non-refundable, because your date comes off my calendar the moment it is signed and I turn other work away for it.
Moving a dateOne date change is free if I am available, and your retainer moves with you. Tell me as soon as you know.
Cancelling a weddingThe retainer is kept. If a wedding is cancelled inside 90 days of the date, the balance remains due.
Portrait and mini sessionsReschedule free with 48 hours notice. Inside 48 hours the retainer is forfeited, because that time was held for you.
Florida weatherRain is never charged. We move it, as many times as we need to, until we get the light we want.
If something happens to meIf I cannot photograph your day through illness or emergency, I will find you a photographer of equal standing at my own cost, and if that is not possible you are refunded in full.

Your contract is the full version of all of this, and it is the one that counts. Ask me anything about it before you sign rather than after.

What to expect

How it goes

Bridesmaids reacting as the bride turns to them before the ceremony

01

Before the day

We start with a call, then build your timeline together so there is enough room in it for photographs. Longer collections include an engagement session first, which matters more than people expect: by the wedding morning the camera is not a stranger.

02

On the day

Documentary in feel, with enough direction that nobody wonders where to stand. I shoot weddings on my own by choice. One person moving quietly through a day sees more of it than two people working around each other, and your guests relax faster when there is only one camera to notice.

03

Afterwards

A handful of sneak peeks within a week, while everyone still wants to see them. The full edited gallery follows in four to six weeks.

Celebrations

Quinces, Bris, Showers & Parties

A quinceañera is a wedding-sized day and I photograph it like one, pre-birthday session and all. Showers, a bris and birthday parties are a different job: lower pressure, simpler to cover, and priced at $300 the first hour and $250 after, so you only pay for the time you need.

A look at the work

What to expect

How it goes

01

Before the day

You tell me the run of the day and I build around it. For a bris we arrive early, because nobody wants a photographer walking in at the same time as the mohel. For a quince we usually start in the getting-ready room.

02

On the day

One photographer, priced by the hour so you only pay for the time you actually need. Sixty edited images an hour, and nobody rushing you off at a hard stop if things run over.

03

No package trap. It is the same arithmetic every time: $300 for the first hour, $250 for each hour after, and the three above are just that sum. Three hours is $800, five is $1,300. Before you ask

Questions we get every week

How is your photobooth different from a normal photo booth rental?

A photo booth is a camera on a stand with an attendant who presses start. We bring a working photographer who lights you properly, directs the shot and knows what to do with a group of nine, plus a print station that turns those frames into keychains, magnets and framed prints your guests take home. A booth in South Florida runs $600 to $1,200 for three hours, and what turns up is a machine. We start at $650 for one hour, and every hour of that is a working photographer and a print station, not a kiosk in the corner.

What areas do you serve?

Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton, Palm Beach and everywhere between, with no travel fee inside the tri-county area. Beyond that, travel starts at $250. We also take destination and multi-city brand tours, quoted per campaign.

How many guests can one station handle?

A make-and-take bar serves eight to ten people at a time, about fifteen minutes each, so one staffed station handles up to 40 makers in two hours. That is the real ceiling, and it is why we price bars by makers rather than by guest count. A 100-guest party does not mean 100 people making slime. A glitter artist does 15 to 20 tattoos an hour; airbrush runs about 20. Above those numbers we add a station or a second artist rather than more hours: the line is what kills these, not the clock.

Do you charge for idle time?

No. The gap between cocktail hour and the reception costs you nothing. Most South Florida activation companies bill that at around $100 an hour, and it is one of the most common surprises on a final invoice.

What is included in the price?

Delivery, setup, trained staff for the whole run time, all materials and consumables, design matched to your event or brand, a digital gallery afterwards, the certificate of insurance your venue will ask for, and breakdown. The number you see is the number you pay, plus Florida sales tax where it applies.

What are glitter images?

A live artist hand-paints glitter onto your printed photographs while guests watch, roughly three minutes a picture, running alongside the booth line rather than holding it up. It is genuinely rare: we could not find another studio offering it anywhere in South Florida. Two-hour minimum.

Can we book more than one station?

Most events do. Two stations take 10% off, three or more take 15%, and booking an activation alongside photography or video takes another 10% off the smaller of the two. Use the estimator above to see what your combination actually costs.

How far ahead should we book, and what holds the date?

Weekends fill fastest, especially between November and April. A 30% retainer holds your date with the balance due two weeks before. Custom activations and custom patches need six weeks and two weeks of lead time respectively.

The full price list

All-in. Delivery, setup, staffing, materials and breakdown are already in the number, and so is idle time, which most South Florida companies bill at $100 an hour. Each line below is the starting price for the hours and headcount it names. Go longer or bigger and it goes up, because a second artist or a second attendant has to be there.

Photobooths

A hundred guests is comfortable in two and a half hours. Two printers run side by side, and our busiest night so far put 360 prints into people’s hands in four, every one of them mounted on a personalised wanted poster. Those are the real numbers the lines below are built on, so you can check them against your own guest list. The numbers

Choose any bar at the same rate: slime, patches, wood painting or the monogram press. Every station comes staffed, supplied, set up and cleaned up. Above 40 makers we add a station rather than hours: stretching one table across a bigger crowd just makes a queue, and a queue is what people remember about a party for the wrong reasons. The rate keeps falling as the group grows, down to $24 a child on a full school programme, because a room set up to move 300 children through in a morning costs us far less per child than a birthday in a living room.

How the night runs

01

Tell us the piece

Glassware, signage, keepsakes, a gift for every guest or one big statement piece. The piece decides the price.

02

The engraver works live

Etching and personalising at the table. Guests watch their own name appear, which is the whole point of having it live rather than pre-made.

03

Gold goes on last

Applied by hand, by eye. It is the step that makes people stop and take a photo of a piece of glass.

The Golden Palm Society

Cocktails, a camera, and the whole industry.

South Florida has plenty of vendor groups that meet in conference rooms and none that leave you with photographs worth posting. So we started one. The first was August 2026 and forty people came.

What you leave with

Headshots from the first night

Every gathering runs a shoot alongside the drinks. You arrive, you meet the room, and you go home with a portrait you can actually put on your website.

August 2026 was the first. Cocktails, forty South Florida wedding and event pros, and a headshot station running all night.

No membership, no dues

Nothing to join and nothing to apply for. Tickets are $50, or $75 with your own shoot on the night. Sponsors come free.

Three more this year

Fall, winter, spring. Each hosted at a sponsor venue, each fully photographed, each capped so the room stays a room.

Built on what we do

Photography is what we actually do, so photography is what you leave with. Everything else grows as the group does.
